Author Interview: Ken Grant
One of the few stories with a touch of weird, Ken Grant tells us exactly what inspired the strange and carnival-like story!
What is your favorite thing about being a writer?
Changing the way readers see the world.
What is your genre? Did you write outside your preferred genre for this anthology?
My primary focus is science fiction and fantasy so this anthology is in my primary wheelhouse.
Are you a pantser or a plotter? Why?
Mainly a pantser. I start with a big idea but then let the writing flow from there.
What is your favorite thing you've written?
My science fiction novel So Great a Salvation.
What inspired the story you wrote for Another World? What was your writing process like for this story? Was it different from your regular workflow?
I started with the idea of a forbidden doorway that led to another world and took it from there. I played with the idea of what is reality and what is fantasy and the story flowed from that point.
Lastly, what is a piece of writing advice you'd give seasoned or new writers?
Be willing to put your writing out there and don't be afraid of informed criticism.
